As the largest automobile producing country in China, there are numerous parts manufacturers for automobiles. The auto parts include transmission shafts, steering columns, shock absorbers, jacks, leaf springs, axles, gearboxes, engines, etc. What type of paint is used for parts? Is it a traditional oil-based paint or a water-based paint with strong development momentum?

In recent years, various environmental protection policies issued by the state and local governments have repeatedly promoted water-based environmentally friendly coatings. Under the "oil ban", the water-based paint in the field of automotive painting is on the rise! However, oil transfer is not so easy.

“Oil to water” is not only the replacement of oil paints and water-based paints, but also a change in its production line and production process.

Since most of the auto parts are cylindrical, the coating generally adopts a disc-type electrostatic coating process, which has high requirements for solving the contradiction between the wetting leveling and the drying speed of the coating. Traditional oil-based coatings still have a large proportion in the coatings market due to their relatively mature technical formula.
